Hamburg is Germany

Hamburg is Germany's second-largest city with approximately 2 million people living here at our great Aerospace City. Its grand merchants' houses and magnificent promenades, international musicals, shopping malls and St. Pauli district give Hamburg a cosmopolitan feel. A touch of the exotic clings to the warehouse district and the city's trademark canals. With its many parks and gardens, Hamburg is also Germany's greenest city.

 The Hansestadt offers you a great variety of interesting  places. One of most spectacular ones is the port, which is the second-largest container terminal in Europe and the Hafencity, Europe's largest urban construction project. On the other hand there´s also the river Elbe, where the port is located, and which has been vital in shaping the city's development throughout history. The Alster lake is a recreational area in the heart of the city. Blankenese is an exclusive residential suburb; the baroque church of St. Michael is Hamburg's most famous landmark. The Speicherstadt warehouse district is the world's largest former warehouse complex;  for those of you interested in sports is Hamburg´s club HSV one of the most successful ones in Germany – and last but not least there is the Reeperbahn, the renowned "red light district”, a reign of night life crowned as well by the bar district Sternschanze.

As if this was not enough, Hamburg is a traditional Aerospace city, which is of course very important for EUROAVIANS like us. Hamburg possesses competences that range over all facettes of aircraft construction, aircraft maintenance and airport operation. Besides the three big enterprises Airbus Deutschland GmbH, Lufthansa Technik AG and the Flughafen Hamburg GmbH, over 300 small and middle sized companies and research institutions all contribute to the know how and make Hamburg the world’s third biggest aerospace city after Seattle and Toulouse.

 Industry, nature, modernity, fun … Hamburg has it all!
